For the 22nd time, local talents came together to bring a knock-out Fall Show to the citizens of Cassville. Singers, musicians and even dancers graced the stage for a fun mix of music and comedy at the Cassville FEMA Event Center.
The Show this year had three performances on Thursday and Saturday nights and on Sunday afternoon. The 24-song set had a little bit for everyone to enjoy with the second half featuring character songs with people dressing as the performers they emulated.
John Lueckenhoff kicked the show off with “My Little Runaway” accompanied with a guitar solo by Jack Reed. Lueckenhoff returned in the second set bringing back his Garth Brooks singing talent to crowd. John’s son Bradley was featured this year as John Denver singing “Back Here Again.”
Emcee Bob Allen narrated the Show again this year, giving the crowd tidbits about the songs and artists who originally performed them.
Songs of the evening featured blusey soulful numbers, like Angela Seymour singing “Bring It On Home To Me” and Sarah Sandoval’s powerful Etta James number “I’d Rather Go Blind.” There were also country hits such as Leslie Smith’s rendition of Sugarland’s “Little Miss,” and Cassidy Larson’s “Wasting All These Tears.” John Davison even brought out his inner Mick Jagger with “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.”
During the character portion of the show, local singers brought the personalities to life with Elvis, both young and old, Three Dog Night, Cher, the Beatles, Loretta Lynn and Christina Aguilera. As it is with each year, the audience was pleased to see local talent brining their best to the stage and give people a taste of what treasures the community has to offer.
Each year the HomeTown Sound and the RedHots get together to back talent, the result is electrifying and this year was no different. With new talents gracing the stage and old favorites coming back, the tradition doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon.
