Active COVID-19 cases decrease

For the first time in several weeks, the Barry County Health Department reported a significant decrease in the number of new COVID-19 cases. From the 77 new cases reported on September 15, the number of new cases on the September 22 report declined to 57.
The positivity rate for the same time period decreased to 7.48 percent, from the previous week’s 10.28 percent.
Patients in isolation with active cases of COVID-19 decreased from 103, to 78, and the number of people in quarantine dropped from over 200, to over 100.
No new deaths due to complications of COVID-19 were reported for that week. To date, 73 Barry County residents have died as a result of COVID-19.
