Advertiser seeking reader questions for August Primary candidates

UPDATE: Mike McGuire, who was running on the Republican ticket for Barry County Sheriff announced on June 26, 2024, on a Facebook video that he is no longer for office.
With the August Primary election just over a month away, I would like to invite readers to submit questions for candidates who are running opposed for Barry County Sheriff, Barry County Northern Commissioner, as well as Barry County Coroner. I ask that the questions not be directed to a single candidate, as each candidate will be asked for a response from the same five questions for each office. Questions submitted will need to include the name, phone number and city location of the submitter. Five submitted questions will be randomly drawn for each office. Questions can be emailed to [email protected], dropped off at the Barry County Advertiser office at 201 W. 9th Street, in Cassville, or mailed to P.O. Box 488, Cassville, MO, 65625. Deadline for question submission will be Friday, July 12, 2024, at 4 p.m.
The following candidates are running on the Republican ticket for Barry County Sheriff on the August 6, 2024, primary: Danny Boyd, Randy Kalbaugh, Mike McGuire, and James Morgan.
The following candidates are running on the Republican ticket for Barry County Northern Commissioner on the August 6, 2024 primary: Gary Klossing and Gary Schad.
The following candidates are running on the Republican ticket for Barry County Coroner on the August 6, 2024, primary: Gary Swearingen and Skip White.
There are currently no candidates running on the Democratic or Independent ticket for the above offices.
Barry County Clerk Joyce Ennis did state anyone interested in running on the Independent ticket for Public Administrator, Barry County Assessor, Barry County Southern Commissioner, Barry County Northern Commissioner, Barry County Sheriff, or Barry County Coroner for the November election will need to have signatures to her by July 29, 2024.
