ATV wreck kills Purdy man

49-year-old Donald L. Gunter, of Purdy, died at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday morning. He was driving south  on Farm Road 1035, three miles northeast of Wheaton, when the Polaris ATV he was driving ran off the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle overturned, ejecting the driver. Gunter was not wearing a safety device.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:34 a.m. by Barry County coroner, Jim Fohn. The accident was investigated by Trooper J.O. Prater of the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident is Troop D's 32nd fatality of 2020.
