Aurora man arrested for assault over $20

An Aurora man was arrested this week after an argument over $20, according to an affidavit of probable cause by the Barry County Sheriff’s Department. Jeremy Lynn Burton, 40, of Aurora, was charged with burglary in the first degree, robbery in the second degree and assault in the third degree after the incident on November 8.
According to the report by Barry County Sheriff’s Cpl. Scott Salkill, Burton broke into a residence on Farm Road 2175 and demanded $20 from the woman inside. Burton then allegedly forcibly stole her purse. The victim was left with bruises on her arm from being punched by Burton, as well.
Burton is currently being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $20,000 cash-only bond.
