Avalanche, Freightliner Collide

At 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, a southbound 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Austin G. Plumlee (37), of Shell Knob, crossed the centerline on Highway 37 one mile south of Cassville and collided with a northbound 2019 Freightliner driven by Harold D. Frost (38), of Rogers, Arkansas.
Plumlee was airlifted to Mercy Springfield with serious injuries.
The Avalanche was totaled and was towed from the scene by Brice’s Towing in Cassville.
The Freightliner suffered moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Thomas Towing of Monett.
Both drivers were insured and were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. J. L. Long of the Missouri Highway Patrol, Troop D, with assistance from MSGT. J. E. Givens, MSGT. E. J. Walker, TPR. M. K. Eden, CVO. J. T. Garland and CVO. M. L. McGraw.
