offers specials for Public Health Month

In recognition of April being Public Health Month, the Barry County health Department will be offering multiple specials that will aid in public health. They’ll offer discounted well water testing, heart disease and stroke risk calculations, blood pressure checks, STD testing, classes on nutrition and classes on breastfeeding.
Beginning April 2 and ending April 4, individuals can get a water test kit for well water for $10. Individuals must use a water test kit provided by the health department to participate.
During the month of April, nursing staff will offer heart disease and stroke risk calculations with blood pressure checks as well as STD testing.
The Missouri Extension office will offer nutrition classes on whole grains on Tuesdays in Monett and Wednesdays in Cassville.
Breastfeeding classes and support will be available Mondays and Tuesdays in Monett from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays in Cassville from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nutrition education classes will be available in Monett April 3 and 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Cassville April 4 and 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. These classes are open to the public and provided by the Missouri Extension office.
