Barry County Soroptomist Club hands out grants

On Thursday, April 25, the Barry County Soroptimist Club awarded Dreams in Action grants to the following groups: Barry County Youth Camp represented by Sarah Pfitzner and Trinity Hartin; Cassville R-IV Schools Bright Futures Program represented by Traci Mitchell; Cassville YMCA represented by Dove Haney; Kids of Our Heroes represented by Daryl and Michele Hovland; Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch represented by Bob Crouthamel; and Recovery Resources represented by Cindy Puryear and Sandy Larson.
Brianna Hemphill, of Cassville, was awarded the Sandra Forester Scholarship Award. The Violet Richardson Award will be awarded to Lacey Reeves, of Washburn.
Through multiple fundraisers, including nut sales and Taco Tuesday, the Barry County Soroptimist Club distributed over $5,000 in grants and scholarships.
Any interested nonprofit organization in need of grant funding should contact the Barry County Soroptimist Club by mailing their request to PO Box 373 Cassville MO 65625. Applications will be available in October with deadline in January.
