The boat drivers and the passenger were all wearing safety devices.
As required by law, the surviving driver was tested for alcohol.
The crash marks Troop D’s 4th and 5th boating fatalities of 2020.
The accident was investigated by Trooper B. Lueckenhoff, and Major Crash Investigation Unit Sergeant S. Richardson. Assisting in the investigation were Captain J. Enderle, Sergeant C. Burr, Sergeant J. Lueckenhoff, Corporal R. Clement and Corporal J. Long.
The bodies of the deceased were transported by the Barry County Coroner to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
