Both drivers injured in Route W crash near Wheaton

             Two people were injured in a crash near Wheaton around midnight on Friday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash occurred when one vehicle crossed the center of the roadway and struck another vehicle headed in the opposite direction.
             Dakota L. Lowe, 23, of Cassville, was driving a 1996 GMC Suburban eastbound on Route W about two miles east of Wheaton. Lowe crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2015 Freightliner Tractor Trailer headed westbound, driven by Kevin J. Kimberling, 62, of Aurora.
             The tractor trailer then ran off the roadway and overturned.
             Lowe suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Kimberling suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cassville.
             Lowe was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Kimberling was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
             Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Thomas Towing, of Monett.
