Candidate Kyle Forgey (R), Northern Commissioner
July 29, 2020
What do you think is the biggest concern Barry County faces, and how would you fix it?
The safety and security of Barry County residents is of utmost importance. Also, I feel the widespread drug use is the biggest problem facing the county. If elected, I look forward to listening to the taxpayers and working with law enforcement on what is best for the county.
What is your opinion of the present budget and what changes, if any, would you make if (re)elected?
Most importantly, I would like to sit down with the county department heads to learn how they utilize their budgets before I start talking about the things I want to change. If elected, I will work hard to take care of the taxpayer’s money in a very prudent manner.
If (re)elected, how will you be sure you’re hearing the concerns of all demographics of Barry County citizens?
If elected, I will make myself accessible to all demographics of Barry County. I’d like to see communication between the people, towns, and communities within the northern district to set clear goals for the county. As a county commissioner you are elected to serve the people and protect the taxpayer’s money.
What changes, if any, would you make to the office?
Barry County is a great place to live, and I believe I can help guide our county as we continue to grow. Our son was born in April and with the stay at home orders due to Covid-19, at this point I’m not willing to recommend changes. I plan to attend regular commission meetings, special meetings, communicate with other county officials, and hear from the citizens.
9. What is your plan for your first 90 days in office, if (re)elected?
The first 90 days will be a review of the budget and educate myself on each aspect of the budget.
