Cassville Holiday Open Houses promise pre-holiday fun
November 10, 2021

A tradition for over 30 years, Cassville businesses will host individual holiday open houses this Saturday, replete with goodies, give-aways and door prizes for shoppers. The open houses present not only a chance to bag freebies, but give residents the opportunity to shop locally, socialize and rev up the holiday cheer.
For shop-keepers, the open houses provide a targeted date to show off new merchandise, expanded store space and even a new owner, as is the case at Forever Yours, where C. J. Tabor will be taking long-time owner Valerie Speer’s place at the helm of the business.
“I’m ready to let someone else take this business to the next level,” said Speer, who appreciates the support the community has given to her for the past ten and a half years, but hopes to pursue other interests, including time with her grandchildren.
Jennifer Privett, at Diva Bling and The Tiny Highlander, looks forward to giving customers a peek at her new screen-printing and embroidery machines which she’ll use for creating customized apparel.
Customization in the form of Christmas wreaths is also a service offered by Carey’s Cassville Florist.
“We have customers who want specific colors or decor items incorporated into their wreaths,” owner Carey Howe said, “and we can provide them.”
Not all things that sparkle are new, however. Some have a vintage sheen, a patina that holds special appeal to those who enjoy reconnecting to the past. Rusty Gate, Two Sisters Dusty Attic and The Ole Home Place offer storehouses of collectibles where unique gifts can be stumbled upon for people who might otherwise have it all.
No matter the age or position of the person you’re seeking a gift for, something for each of them can be found right here close to home.
Check out this week's print edition of The Barry County Advertiser for specials offered by participating merchants, including Forever Yours, Diva Bling & The Tiny Highlander, Tomblin's Jewelry & Gifts, Designs By Debbie, Carey's Cassville Florist, Whitley Pharmacy, Rusty Gate Flea Market, The Ole Home Place Flea Market, and Two Sisters Dusty Attic Flea Market.
