A Cassville man was arrested on Tuesday for an alleged assault that took place on Old Exeter Road in Cassville.
Codie Allen Fullum, 26, of Cassville, got into an altercation with two women, one of whom was his girlfriend around 2:02 a.m., according to an affidavit of probable cause written by Officer Michael Smith with the Cassville Police Department.
In the report, Smith says that Fullum prevented one victim’s vehicle from leaving his driveway, and then he went inside to retrieve his shotgun and loaded one round. Fullum then allegedly pointed the gun at the woman when his girlfriend then put herself between them so he would not shoot her.
According to Officer Smith, Fullum admitted to pointing the gun at the women while it was loaded and that he fired it into the ground. He also allegedly hit the woman in the chest with the gun, knocking her down the house steps.
Fullum is currently being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $30,000 cash-only bond. He is charged with assault in the first degree, unlawful use of a weapon, and domestic assault in the second degree as a first offense.
