One man is in jail after allegedly pulling a gun on a couple at Jump Stop in Cassville. Jeffery Crumpler, 38, of Cassville, is currently being held in the Barry County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond for class B felony assault in the first degree.
According to the affidavit of probable cause written by Sgt. Donald Privett with the Cassville Police Department, Officer Fohn had a report that a white male had pulled a gun on two people in the parking lot of Jump Stop on Main Street and threatened to shoot them on March 8 around 5:28 p.m.
The male victim said that Crumpler waved the gun, which he believed to be a .45, around and threatened to shoot him unless he kept his mouth shut. The probable cause referenced that Crumpler believed that the male victim was talking badly about one of his “people.” Crumpler allegedly pointed the gun at the male and his girlfriend.
The two victims were interviewed the next day, and a warrant for Crumpler’s arrest was issued on March 11. Officers with the Barry County Sheriff’s Department arrested Crumpler on March 15.
