Cassville Police Department reports arrests, structure fire
Cassville June 29, 2021:
Officers from the Cassville Police Department executed a pair of search warrants within the city limits of Cassville. The first was served at 1004 Harold Street, where officers located several stolen items inside of the residence as well as narcotics and paraphernalia. The stolen items were identified as being from a recent burglary at a business in Cassville. One female was taken into custody for the items as well as for an outstanding warrant. The stolen property, which included two laptop computers, was returned to the owners the following day. A male and female have been charged with felony stealing and burglary in connection with the incident.
Officers and deputies from the Barry County Sheriff’s Office then executed a second search warrant at 205 W. 9th Street. Inside of the residence, officers located numerous drug paraphernalia items as well as illegal narcotics. One male and one female were taken into custody and placed on investigative hold. Another female who had left the residence as officers arrived was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. Additional narcotics and paraphernalia were located in her belongings. Charges on all subjects are pending.

On July 14, officers from the Cassville Police Department responded to a structure fire at 1008 Harold Street. Extensive damage was suffered to the residence, both from fire and smoke. Officers quickly determined that the fire could have been intentionally set and identified their suspect. A short time later, officers made contact with and arrested Mitchell Davidson, 36, of Cassville. He was booked into the Barry County Jail on charges of harassment and ex parte violation. The following day, Davidson was interviewed at the Cassville Police Department and admitted to starting the fire. A charge of Arson 2nd degree was added, and he remains in custody with a $75,000 bond. The incident was also investigated by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office.
