Cassville Police Prescription Take Back Day April 27
April 24, 2019
The Cassville Police Department is participating in the D.E.A. Prescription Take Back Day again this year. This will be held April 27, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Medication can be dropped off at Cassville City Hall/Cassville Police Department located at 300 Main Street. The entrance will be in the back of the building. Use the Council Chamber door to drop off prescriptions on April 27.
The Prescription Take Back Day’s purpose is to help people to properly dispose of unused medications. Proper disposal of medication helps to protect the environment and keeps the medicine from being flushed into our water systems. This also helps keep the medication out of the hands of people who do not have a prescription or need for the medication but want to use it for recreational use only.
Chief Dana Kammerlohr said, “We want to encourage people to take the time to clean out their medicine drawers/cabinets and properly dispose of their unused medicine.”
The Prescription Take Back Day staff will accept over-the–counter medications. Inhalers, illegal drugs or sharp objects (i.e. syringes/needles) will not be accepted. No medications can be accepted from medical clinics, pharmacies or veterinary clinics.
