Cassville resident dies after lake swim

Leah Moss, 50, of Cassville, died on Sunday after swimming in Table Rock Lake northwest of Point 21. At 3 p.m., Moss exited the water, beginning to feel ill. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, she was transported by an acquaintance to the Central Crossings Fire Station, where she was pronounced dead at 4:21 p.m. by Dr. Dustin Gammon from Mercy Hospital. Moss was then transported by Todd McCoy from Central Crossing Fire Station to Fohn Funeral home in Cassville. This is 2021’s seventh drowning report for Troop D, which includes Barry and Stone County.
