Arvest Bank is pleased to announce Mrs. Jess Newkirk, Cassville High School Communications Arts Teacher, as the winner of the fifth annual "We Love Teachers" campaign.
The campaign is designed to recognize--and provide support to--teachers throughout the Arvest footprint. This year, Arvest has awarded a total of 157 $500 gifts to individual teachers throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma
Newkirk plans to spend the money she received on books and magazine subscriptions. "Some new magazines would be great for the required reading and I know my students will be excited about that," stated Newkirk. "I'm also planning to buy several American classics for an American Literature unit I'm planning for the spring. Anything to put actual books in my students' hands."
"We're very excited Mrs. Newkirk has received this recognition," said Keith Robertson, CHS Principal, "but we're more excited about the awesome things she'll continue to do for our students. Mrs. Newkirk is currently in her first year of teaching and it's great to see that she has made such a positive impact on her students in just a few short months!"
The Arvest initiative to honor educators was launched on October 5. Nominations were accepted via the Arvest Bank Facebook page and a random selection took place on October 12.
