City of Seligman mayor, alderman re-elected

Both Seligman’s mayor and alderman were reelected in Tuesday’s races. Seligman had a 15.55 percent voter turnout for the election and ended up supporting current mayor Jerry Montgomery and alderman Ron Corn to continue their duties with the city.
Montgomery faced two challengers on Tuesday, Joe Foster and Belva Stepp. According to the unofficial election results, Montgomery won with 32 votes while Foster had 20 and Stepp had 24. This will be Montgomery’s third term as mayor for the city.
Ron Corn won his seat again as the east ward alderman with 32 votes to challenger Ralph E. Marshall’s 19. The other alderman seats were unopposed. Michael Avers will serve a one-year term in the west ward, and Robert (Bob) Hughes will serve a two-year term, also in the west ward.
