College Heights girls drop Wheaton in semifinal

The Wheaton Lady Bulldogs saw their season end at Ozark Christian College in Joplin Wednesday night, as College Heights powered to a 49-35 victory in their Class 2 District 12 semifinal. The Lady Cougars roared to a 28-16 halftime lead, and maintained that lead throughout the second half.
Grace Bishop scored nine in each half to lead CH with 18 points. Monica Hinojosa led Wheaton with 12.
The Lady Bulldogs finished their season with a 10-13 record. College Heights fell to Greenfield in the district championship game on Friday, 58-44.
“This team played hard and improved throughout the season,” said Wheaton’s Jessica Lombard. “With only one senior and the growth we’ve made, next year will be our year to peak. I am very proud of this group of girls.”
