Couple charged with stealing wire husband caught, wife still wanted

Wife featured as one of Barry County’s Most Wanted

June 1, 2016
Charlea Estes

A Golden man is in custody after allegedly stealing wiring from a rental trailer they were staying in back in October 2015. Billy Ray Scallorn, 39, was arrested last week for the offense. His wife, Stacy Scallorn, has yet to be arrested for her warrant.
According to the affidavits of probable cause by the Barry County Sheriff’s Department, the Scallorns were in a contract renting a trailer in the Golden area. The owner of the trailer said that when they moved out, they ripped out and stole all of the wiring from the trailer, as well as the furnace and air conditioning units. The overall replacements and damage repair was estimated at between $15,000 and $20,000.
The Scallorns took the wiring to sell at Tom Bar Recycling in Berryville, Ark.
Billy Ray Scallorn is currently being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $15,000 cash-only bond for stealing wire and property damage in the first degree. Stacy Scallorn has been charged with the same.
Stacy is currently on the Barry County Sheriff’s Department Most Wanted list. If you have information about her whereabouts, contact the Sheriff’s Department at (417) 847-6556.
