COVID-19 cases leap in Barry County

According to the Barry County Health Department’s November 17 situational update, the percentage of positive cases of COVID-19, per tests administered, jumped sharply during the six-day period between November 11 and 17.
The November 11 update showed 613 tests were administered during the nine-day period between November 2 and 11; of those, 48 cases were positive, yielding a positivity rate of 7.83 percent.
However, between November 11 and 17, the health department reports that fewer COVID-19 tests were administered (338); of those, 72 cases were positive, yielding a positivity rate of 21.3 percent.
For the six-day period ending November 17, 89 people are in isolation with active cases of COVID, up 26 from the previous reporting period, and over 200 people are in quarantine after exposure to a person with a positive case of COVID-19 - up over 125 from the previous week.
