CoxHealth, Mercy report
COVID vaccine status
Febraury 24, 2021
CoxHealth reports they have now administered more than 21,000 total doses of COVID-19 vaccine, which have been given to 14,826 community members and employees.
They were allotted nearly 6,000 doses of vaccines for upcoming clinics, a number slightly higher than their normal allotment. However, because the vaccine supply is still limited, they encourage eligible individuals to get the vaccine wherever they can, as soon as they can.
They advise those who are waiting on the vaccine to pay close attention to emails, texts and phone calls over the next few days so residents will be aware that it’s possible for them to register.
On a sliding scale of 1 - 11, with the most at-risk patients (#1) offered the vaccine first, as of February 18, CoxHealth was registering patients in the #9 range, which includes residents aged 70 - 74, with a BMI greater than 40, or who are diabetic, or who have chronic lung disease.
Mercy reports they currently have more than 333,000 people on their Missouri waitlist for the vaccine. Due to the limited supply, they’ve only been able to offer 5 percent (less than 17,000) Missourians an appointment so far.
As their vaccine supply is replenished, they will continue to schedule appointments by email, text or telephone with those who are eligible and have requested the vaccine.
According to a Mercy vaccination update, it may take many months to provide a first dose to everyone who’s signed up.
Due to the limited supply of COVID-19 vaccines, appointments are only being offered at a few designated locations. Appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine can’t be scheduled with a Mercy Clinic provider.
