Crash with towed boat injures one near Chain-o-Lakes

An Eagle Rock man was seriously injured after colliding with a house boat on the Highway 86 bridge south of Chain-O-Lakes today. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the houseboat was in the other vehicle’s lane when they crashed around 3:40 a.m.
Kenneth R. Greenwood, 55, of Eureka Springs, Ark., was headed northbound on the bridge while pulling a houseboat with his 1995 Ford F250. A second vehicle, a 1994 Ford F150 driven by Ace A. Gray, 61, of Eagle Rock, was headed south bound. Gray’s truck collided with the houseboat overhanging his lane of travel.
Gray was seriously injured in the crash and taken by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
Greenwood had no reported injuries. Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The F250 sustained extensive damage but was driven from the scene. The F150 was totalled and towed from the scene by Brice’s Towing, of Cassville.
