Driver airlifted after hitting tree outside of Purdy

A Mt. Vernon driver was airlifted after a wreck outside of Purdy on Sunday evening. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the driver went off the road and hit a tree.
Makenzie H. McDonald, 22, of Mt. Vernon, was driving on Farm Road 1156 five miles east of Purdy when she crashed her 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
The crash occurred around 8:14 p.m. on May 6. McDonald was airlifted from the scene and taken to Cox Hospital in Springfield for serious injuries.
She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The Silverado was totalled and towed from the scene by Brice’s Towing, of Cassville.
