The Annual Eagle Rock Daze and  Car Show will be hosted by the Eagle Rock Community Center on October 24 starting at 10 a.m. Last year, the car show had almost 100 cars entered, and they are expecting another great turn out.
There will also be plenty of food and craft vendors for the public’s enjoyment. At 2:30 p.m., the building will open up for the Library Howl-O-Ween Festival. The first event will be the costume contest. The age groups are 5 and under, 6 to 9, 10 to 17, and adult. The fun and games will continue until 5 p.m.
There will be a haunted house that will be offering, “screams and chills for the brave souls,” said Jennifer Cochran, Eagle Rock branch supervisor.
There will be an Eagle Rock Daze Medallion Hunt, as well. The rules for the hunt are:
• The medallion will NOT be on private property.
• You cannot dig, hammer, rake, cut or destroy any property in any way.
• There are no tools needed.
• The clues will be available at the Eagle Rock Library, The Eagle Rock Fire Station #1, and the Community Connection every Day at 9 a.m.
• If you are an ERCA member as of July 1, 2015, the prize is $500.
• The non-members’ prize is $100.
• The medallion will not be indoors.
• The medallion will be accessible to all.
• If and when the medallion is found, the finder must call John at (417) 342-7923 immediately.
• It begins October 18 at 9 a.m.
• The winner will be announced and prize will be awarded during the Eagle Rock Daze/Howl-O-Ween Fest on Saturday, October 24, and 2 p.m.
Along with all these activities, there will also the annual ‘Little Mr. and Miss Eagle Rock’ contest. This contest is for children seven years and under. Photos must be submitted by October 21 at 5 p.m. to the Eagle Rock Library.
The winner of the contest will be announced at 5 p.m. on October 24 at Eagle Rock Daze.
Jennifer Cochran says, “This is a family event, and we want to encourage everybody to mark their calendars and join us for the fun.”
