Eureka Springs Man Charged with First Degree Assault

According to a statement of Probable Cause filed by Officer Whitehead, Nicholas John Anthony White, 44, of Eureka Springs, Ark. has been charged with assault in the first degree and armed criminal action.
Officer Whitehead states that on May 8, 2022, White allegedly assaulted an individual on State Highway 76 during an attempted carjacking. According to Officer Whitehead, White allegedly used a knife during the assault, inflicting an eight centimeter laceration to the left palm of the victim, in addition to a seven and a half centimeter laceration on the right side of the head.
Officer Whitehead states that this laceration to the head caused an avulsion to the victim's right ear.
Additionally, White allegedly caused a four centimeter, and a one and a half centimeter laceration on the left forearm. White then allegedly fled the area prior to any law enforcement arrival on scene.
According to the Probable Cause statement, there was photo evidence taken from the scene which was utilized to identify White. From this evidence, White was located and picked up in Carroll County Arkansas by Arkansas State Trooper Graham and Carroll County Deputy Scotti.
