The Exeter Corn Maze is in full swing with plenty of new activities for kids and adults alike. This weekend, the maze and pumpkin patch held their annual craft fair and more fun is slated for coming weeks.
Vendors and attendees at the two-day craft fair doubled over last year, according to corn maze owners Artie and Robyn Cole. They had 35 vendors set up with everything from home decor and goods for sale to an animal communicator who did pet readings for charity. The animal communicator, Cindy Kay Jones, ended up raising $160 on Saturday for a pet charity and $90 for Blazi Lowe’s cancer battle on Sunday. She added that anyone who missed the readings on Saturday and Sunday can call her for an appointment, and she will donte those proceeds to Blazi, as well. Her number is (918) 557-8319.
Artie Cole said, “It was incredibly busy and the weather was perfect. It’s gone really well this year.” He added that this year, they grew 12 acres of pumpkins, but if people want pumpkins, they are going to have to go soon before they sell out.
Each year, the Coles add new and exciting activities for kids of all ages. This year, that includes a bunny farm at the petting zoo, Lil Cobb’s Raceway, a tricycle track for kids under 8, a new corn pool, a paint gun shoot-out shack, and a new observation tower. Next year, even more exciting activities will join the existing ones, including two new jumping pillows.
While the Pumpkin Run 5K and the craft fair are over, the Exeter Corn Maze still has more planned to draw in visitors. In October, they are planning a pumpkin carving contest and a pumpkin tossing contest. For more information on those events, updates will be posted on their website www.exetercornmaze.com and their Facebook page.
The Exeter Corn Maze is open Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays form 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. They are located on State Highway MM in Exeter. Detailed directions are on their website.
