Exeter man arrested for alleged death threats, drugs

An Exeter man is charged with possession of a controlled substance after allegedly making death threats to the people he lives with. According to affidavits of probable cause, Scott Arthur Patterson, of Exeter, was arrested on Wednesday, April 4, after being found to have methamphetamine.
The Barry County Sheriff’s Department arrested Patterson after a search of his bedroom. According to affidavits or probable cause, Patterson had six plastic baggies with methamphetamine residue, three plastic syringes, one glass syringe, a metal spoon and a sunglass lens with residue in Patterson’s dresser drawer.
When confronted, Patterson allegedly said he had a drug problem and needed help.
Officers also located ammunition in his bedroom. Patterson had allegedly been making threats to kill everyone who lived in the home on Farm Road 2170 in Exeter where he resided.
Patterson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is currently being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $15,000 cash-only bond.
