Exeter man arrested for church burglary

An Exeter man, Johnny Jacob Berry, 56, was arrested on April 16 for allegedly stealing a tractor and other equipment from a local church.
According to the affidavit of probable cause by Barry County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Ruark, Berry stole a 1988 Ford 1210 tractor, tether, blade and field digger from the Davidian Seventh Day Adventist Church in Exeter on Farm Road 1025. The total value of all of the equipment stolen was approximately $12,000.
The tractor and related equipment was recovered, according to Ruark. Berry was charged with theft/stealing of $500 to $25,000 in value on April 16.
Berry is currently being held in the Barry County Jail on a $15,000 cash or corp surety bond.
