Would you want to sip tea with Snow White? Or read a book with Belle? Maybe have your nails painted with Tiana? A new business in Monett lets kids meet their favorite princess for the experience of a lifetime.
Fairytale Kingdom, LLC, opened in Monett in June, and since then, kids all over the area have gotten to meet their favorite princesses for an experience that is impossible to forget.
Amanda Christman opened Fairytale Kingdom in Monett as a way to explore her passions, while also being a dedicated mom. She said, “My son will be starting preschool next year, and I was at that crossroads in life: what am I going to do? I’ve been a stay at home. I’d heard about a similar company but they are in a totally different area, so I thought I’d try it here.”
So far, Fairytale Kingdom has drawn a lot of positive support. Christman brings her princesses for private birthday parties, but she also started hosting special events that parents can buy individuals tickets for their kids to be able to attend.
Christman said, “I have a daughter who is all about princesses and loves all the girly stuff. My son is getting older and I started to think of something I could do once both children are in school.
“I have always had a passion for event planning and crafting. I began to think about how much fun this type of business would be. I also was excited about the location because there is nothing like this around here, so I am thrilled to bring something new to the area. I know my daughter has always been star-struck when I have taken her to different princess events, so I am excited to be able to see that joy and happiness on other children’s faces.”
Fairytale Kingdom offers nine different Disney princesses to bring the parties to life: Rapunzel, Cinderella, Elsa, Anna, Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Tiana and Moana. Different princesses host the private events with different stories, activities and themes.
Christman said, “There is nothing like what we offer around here. This is an opportunity to let every little girl’s dream come true. They can have a birthday party with the princess they love. We also host special events every month that they could come enjoy with their princess, as well.”
Birthday party packages come in three different tiers: Tea Party, The Royal Treatment and The Palace. The special events where parents can purchase individual tickets, instead of buying a whole party package, have different themes.
Christman said, “We are doing different special events. We are hosting one to two special events each month, and there is an event site parents can go online and purchase tickets so they don’t even have to call.
“It’ll be different princesses at the different events. Our first event was a unicorn theme with everything unicorn: rainbow punch and a backdrop with unicorn props. Each kid got a unicorn horn and got to play unicorn games and hear a unicorn story.”
Christman said she plans to change the events regularly to keep them interesting. While some of the more popular events will be repeated, she wants them to be unique overall.
She continued, “We have one planned for September at a painting place in Anderson. It’s for a mommy and me session where they will do two paintings. Kids and their moms will come in, and Rapunzel will be there hosting.
“There will  also be pajama parties and more. I’m going to try to change them up a lot and not do the same ones over and over.”
Christman has a passion for the business she is running. As a mom, she said she finds a lot of joy in hosting parties and making magic happen. She said, “The most rewarding part of this business is seeing the children’s faces light up as they see the princess they have watched actually interact with them. It’s so precious because some are so star struck by them but you can tell they are just gleaming with joy. It is so sweet. All of my princesses are so good with the kids, and I am very thankful for each of them.”
She continued, “I have always been a girl who loves everything pink and glitter. Then, God gave me a daughter, Taylin, whom I have cherished so deeply. She is so much like me, including loving pink and glitter. When we have went to different princess events, her face lighting up is so magical and precious. I thought, I would love to do this for others. My daughter has absolutely been my inspiration and will continue to be my inspiration. I am really excited to see what happens with this business.”
Fairytale Kingdom will also be doing special events at the Dickerson Park Zoo beginning soon.
Fairytale Kingdom is located at 222 East Broadway in Monett. To reach them, contact them on their Facebook group or at (417) 592-2001. Announcements and special events are posted in the Fairytale Kingdom Facebook group regularly.
