Five injured after ejected from shuttle near Shell Knob

        Five people were injured after being ejected from a shuttle vehicle in Shell Knob over the weekend. On Saturday, July 15, an EZ Go Shuttle, similar to bigger capacity golf cart, hit an embankment, throwing the passengers and driver from the vehicle.       
        The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report stated the crash occurred on Knob Hill Lane in Shell Knob around 5 p.m. The driver of the shuttle, Merle Y. Bell, 64, of Wichita, Kan., was driving northbound on Knob Hill when she truck an embankment. Five people were ejected from the vehicle, suffering minor to moderate injuries.
        Bell was moderately injured. A passenger, Nancy A. Cone, 66, also of Witchita, Kan., suffered minor injuries. Both of the women were transported to Mercy Hospital in Berryville, Ark., by ambulance. Three other passengers, all 16 years old and also from Wichita, suffered minor injuries and were transported by private vehicles to Mercy Hospital of Berryville, Ark., as well.
        No one on the shuttle was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The shuttle only sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
