Five injured in wreck near Purdy

        Five people were injured in a wreck on Route C Thursday evening. A 2000 Dodge Dakota turned into the path of a 2005 Ford F350 while executing a left turn, according the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
        Around 6:10 p.m., Shawn A. Hughey, 37, of Verona, was headed westbound on Route C six miles east of Purdy. While attempting a left turn, his Dakota was struck by the Ford truck driven by Edward A. Cooper, 69, of Granby.
        Hughey received minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Springfield along with two 14-year-old passengers, also with minor injuries. Two 12-year-old passengers received moderate injuries and were transported via ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
        Hughey and two of the minor passengers were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The other two passengers were. Cooper, who was wearing a seat belt,  had no reported injuries at the time of the crash.
