Joe Goade, owner of Bullets ‘n Bows in Cassville, is in talks to go nationwide with a deer attractant he created around 15 years ago. The food-based attractant, currently available locally, is receiving acclaim from a variety of hunters, and Goade says that people should expect to see it distributed in both mom and pop-type establishments and big sporting goods chains, like Bass Pro and Cabela’s, in 2015.
The attractant, called Killer Xpress, is a sweet-smelling attractant marketed for deer, bears, hogs and all types of game. To top it off, it is also made of all natural ingredients. Goade began negotiations this week with Head Hunter Scents, a company that has nationwide distribution of attractants and other products. Goade said, “They will be a distributor by 2015 on this product.”
Goade is no stranger to inventive thought, including a product he developed called the Shock Terminator Suppressor (STS). The STS mounts on a bow and acts as a stopper for the bowstring, reducing hand shock and string hum. His reputation in the hunting world is bolstered by a number of famous archers for whom he adjusts their bows.
Killer Xpress is just his next endeavor of helping hunters bag their game, whatever species they prefer. Even without widespread distribution, just mentioning the product on his Facebook page has generated interest from all over. Goade said, “I’ve been getting calls from across the country. Now, I’m thinking about going worldwide.”
One of the most gratifying things about his new product has been the response by people who are trying it. He said, “I’ve actually heard from customers that they had a buck tracking a doe, and that he broke off to lick the ground where they’d put it.” While it only takes a small amount to bring in the big bucks, the attractant will actually soak into the ground and last a week or longer, he said.
Goade stated, “It’s neat to have guys give me testimonials on how well it has worked for them.” Bottles of Killer Express are currently available at Bullets ‘n Bows and will soon be on his website, http://stores.stsarchery.net.
Goade has some samples of the product, and the normal pricing will be a 12 ounce bottle for $9.99 and 4 ounces for $6.99.
