Two Highway 37 crashes result in injuries

Two accidents occurring within a three-day time frame on State Highway 37 resulted in serious injuries to two drivers.
On Monday, March 22, at 12:17 p.m., a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Kaylee M. Tichenor (20), of Purdy, suffered serious injury when a southbound 2008 Mitsubishi Raider driven by Philip A Richardson (60), of Cape Fair, turned into her path, one-half mile south of Butterfield.
The Tahoe was totaled and was towed from the scene by Brice's Towing. It is unknown whether the vehicle was insured.
Tichenor, who was not wearing a safety device, was transported by air to Cox South in Springfield.
The Mitsubishi suffered minor damage and was also towed from the scene by Brice's Towing.
No injury was reported for its driver, who was insured.
The crash was investigated by Trooper J.O. Prater with Troop D of the Missouri Highway Patrol.
On Friday, March 19, at 1:30 p.m., two miles south of Washburn, Gloria Bumpas (68), of Garfield, Arkansas, suffered serious injuries after attempting to pass a southbound 1993 International Eagle on the right in her southbound 1993 Jeep Wrangler, as the International was attempting to make a right turn.
Bumpas's Jeep travelled off the roadway and overturned. The insured vehicle suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Brice’s Towing.
The International, driven by Kevin A. Walles (36), of Aurora, was driven from the scene with minor damage.
No injuries were reported for Walles, whose vehicle was also insured.
The accident was investigated by Trooper J.O. Prater, of Troop D, Missouri Highway Patrol.
