Zone 4 Mini Golf and More, in Cassville, held it’s inaugural Battle of the Bands Competition last Saturday night with a diverse lineup. Five bands competed in the inaugural event, including: Probably Gonna Suck, Next Generation, A Damn Heavy Dose, Kurbchecked, and Outraged.
Probably Gonna Suck placed first in the competition. Jensen Sinclair-Hall, 14, of Neosho, slayed on the guitar alongside drummer, Ethan Webb, 20, of Webb City. I will point out by the end of the duos three song set, you knew Sinclair-Hall has something special about him. He was on point on the count and his transitions were flawless for his age. He’s got a frequency that is undeniably gritty and worthy of a following for anyone interested in Metal Rock. At the end of the set, the duo announced the name of their band is actually Freshly Carvin’ Face and according to Sinclair-Hall, they only changed it for the competition because they thought it would be funny to hear it announced, which is a totally Rock and Roll thing to do.
Next Generation placed second in the competition. The group is known for it’s performances during the annual The Show, in Cassville, and includes Hayden Jereczek, Jarrett Paul, Rykon Beck, Jaycee Hudson, Jacob Hudson, Caiden Edie, Owen England, Navra Boise, Samantha Baugus and Jonah Cupps. The bands three song set included covers from The Beatles, Three Dog Night, and Elvis.
A Damn Heavy Dose, who placed third in the competition, brought three original acoustic songs to the competition, including a song written about kids dying from the synthetic opioid drug, Fentanyl.
The next competitive event at Zone 4 Mini Golf and More will be the second annual Ozarks Got Talent, on July 27, 2024, at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in competing the event can contact Zone 4 Mini Golf and More through it’s Facebook page.
