Injuries result from Hwy. 37 wreck

August 9, 2017
Charlea Estes

A Cassville man was injured after getting into a collision with a semi on Highway 37. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the semi was trying to turn and failed to yield to the other vehicle.
Jonathan D. Rodgers, 61, of Frankfurt, Kent., was driving a 2016 International Prostar semi tractor trailer westbound when he began turning south on Highway 37 about three miles north of Purdy. Rodgers failed to field to another driver. Andrew R. Adkins, 22, of Cassville, was headed northbound on Highway 37 in a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu when Rodgers failed to yield. Adkins attempted to avoid the accident, but collided with the trailer of the semi.
Adkins was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cassville for moderate injuries sustained in the crash. Rodgers had no reported injuries at the time of the crash. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The semi suffered minor damage and was driven from the scene. The Malibu was totalled and towed from the scene by Brice’s Towing of Cassville.
