Joplin woman charged with Barry County burglaries

One Joplin woman was taken into custody and charged with multiple Barry County burglaries and property damage earlier in the year. Meredith Anne Gould, 37, of Joplin, was booked into the Barry County Jail on Monday, December 22, and is being held on an $80,000 bond.
Gould was wanted in connection with four different burglaries and thefts. The first incident was reported on May 26 when a residence on Highway 86 was damaged and collector items and jewelry were stolen. Barry County Sheriff’s Deputies found a sock and aluminum window frame with blood stains on them. Two other homes on Highway Z and Farm Road 2010 near Verona had each around $500 worth of music equipment and items stolen in August. There were also two other residences in the county with similar thefts.
On August 6, the Newton County Sheriff’s Department investigate Joseph Nolen and Meredith Gould for thefts, and Nolen’s DNA came back on the Barry County burglaries. During the investigation, several items from the Barry County burglaries were found, including at pawn shops.
Gould is charged with five counts of burglary in the 2nd degree, five counts of stealing and two counts of property damage in the 2nd degree.
