Kansas man charged with Wheaton domestic assault

A Baxter Springs, Kan., man was arrested and charged last week with domestic assault and burglary after allegedly breaking into a home and attacking a woman he was in a previous romantic relationship with. Corey Robison, 42, is charged with burglary in the first degree, domestic assault in the third degree and property damage in the second degree.
According to the affidavit of probable cause by the Barry County Sheriff’s Department, Robison broke into the victim’s residence on Hill Street in Wheaton on March 4 with the intent to physically assault her. Once inside, he allegedly inflicted pain by throwing her into kitchen cabinets and holding her up by the head at her ears and shaking her.
When he reportedly broke in through the garage, he damaged the door, as well.
Barry County Deputy Justin reported that Robison was no longer on the scene and had fled back to Kansas once he arrived on the scene.
Robison is being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $30,000 cash-only bond.
