Lady Wildcats claim East Newton team title

The Cassville Lady Wildcats topped a sixteen-team field to win the East Newton Relays on Thursday night at Granby. The Hackler girls, Hallie and Hannah, won both the 100 and 200 meter sprint races, and Sharayah Seymour and Kyren Postlewait posted field event wins to lead the Ladycats to victory with 110 points.
The Cassville boys finished 6th in the team standings with 53 points. Wheaton’s Chad Meyer earned three medals in the sprints and hurdles as the Bulldogs scored 23 for 8th place. Travis Sickles and Christian Long medalled in the distance events to push Southwest to 9th with 22. Sickles broke a long-standing school record in the 3200 meter event.
