Maj. Gen. Waddell speaks to Rotary Club
October 24, 2018

The Cassville Rotary Club had the distinct honor to host Major General Ricky L. Waddell, the Assistant to the Chairman, his wife, Donna, at last week’s Rotary meeting. Major General Waddell is a former student of one of our members, Jerry Marple, while Marple taught and coached in Arkansas. Major General Waddell stated that he considers growing up in a small town a blessing. The people from his community were the people who taught him that even the idea of pursuing your dream was a gift. He worked in the hayfield, a feed mill and a chicken plant before he ever studied at Oxford or became a Rhodes Scholar. Major General Waddell attributed much of his success to hard work and dedication. “I’ve been on the jagged edge of freedom in quite a few places and it’s quite an honor to serve our country.”
