Make plans to attend a local Fourth of July celebration

The following community Fourth of July festivities are planned in Barry County, some on the fourth, others on alternate dates.
• Cassville: Corinth Baptist Church in Cassville is holding a firework celebration on July 2 at 7 p.m. at 11453 State Hwy. AA, Cassville.
• Butterfield Firefighters Auxiliary Summer Celebration: Friday, July 2 at 9:30 p.m. there will be a fireworks show at Twister Alley in Butterfield with free popcorn, watermelon slices and water, as well as a vending station.
• Purdy Community Picnic & Fireworks Show: Saturday, July 3, at 6 p.m. at The Gathering Place, an evening picnic and music by Lancaster Station and children from the First Freewill Baptist Vacation Bible school will begin at 6 p.m., followed at 9 p.m. by fireworks.
• Shell Knob: At 10 a.m. on July 4, Shell Knob is having their Let Freedom Ring Boat Parade on Table Rock Lake, followed that evening by the Fire and Thunder Firework Display at 9:25 p.m., east of Central Crossing Bridge on Highway 39. The parade will begin at Point 21, and will travel west underneath the bridge on Highway 39 to Lost Hill Island. The parade can be viewed from parking areas on land.
• Seligman: At City Hall on July 4, food will be served at 6 p.m., with fireworks beginning at dark. Live music from The Flyin’ Buzzards will begin at 7 p.m.
• Wheaton: At the Wheaton City Park, there will be food served at 6 p.m. on July 4, with music from Southern Rations at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks beginning at dark.
• Washburn: June 26, Washburn will be having their celebration. Parking will be in the Southwest school parking lot. At 7 p.m., there will be games and food. At 8 p.m., there will be music from the Mission Baptist worship team, and fireworks will begin at dark.
• Eagle Rock, Golden and Mano: The Eagle Rock, Golden and Mano Fire Department is sponsoring a July 3 firework show, beginning at dusk on the Table Rock Bridge on Highway 86. They will also be serving breakfast from 7 - 10 a.m. that morning to raise funds for the firework display.
