Man arrested on statutory rape charges

A man from the Kansas City area has been charged with statutory rape from an alleged incident while he was on vacation at Table Rock Lake in 2013. Richard Thomas Woodbridge, 32, of Greenwood, is charged with statutory rape in the first degree for sex with a child under the age of 14.
Charges were filed against Woodbridge in June of this year, but the victim’s mother advised that the incident had allegedly happened while they were on vacation at Table Rock Lake in Golden between June 3 and June 10, 2013.
Woodbridge also has multiple charges against him in Jackson County. According to court records, Woodbridge turned himself in and confessed to the incidents. He is charged with three counts of statutory sodomy in the first degree - deviate sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14, statutory rape in the first degree and statutory rape in the second degree.
Woodbridge posted bond at the Jackson County Jail on October 16 and was then booked into the Barry County Jail on October 24 after being brought from Jackson County.
Woodbridge is currently being held in the Barry County jail in lieu of a $100,000 cash-only bond. He has an arraignment slated for tomorrow, Thursday, October 26, at 8:30 a.m. in font of the honorable Judge Robert Foulke.
Woodbridge has a jury trial scheduled in Jackson County for February 26, 2018.
