• What experience do you have that makes you a good candidate for Presiding Commissioner?
I have extensive experience in managing the county budget and helping insure the county’s roads and bridges are properly maintained. I serve as President of the Southwest Missouri Association of County Commissioners which represents the 16 counties in Southwest Missouri. This allows Barry County to participate in decisions that affect our area.
• Why did you decide to run for office?
Barry County has made great progress since I have been Presiding Commissioner. My goal is to keep Barry County moving forward.
• How would Barry County benefit from your serving as Presiding Commissioner?
I will continue to work for all citizens, listening and solving problems. My experience and relationships will continue to benefit Barry County. An example of this is that I am the Chairman of the Highway 37-60 Highway Corridor coalition representing five counties which has successfully advocated for the improvement of both Highway 37 and Highway 60. We have been successful in getting portions of Highways 37 and 60 improved with passing lanes and we will continue to work to get additional improvements to both highways including improvement to Highway 37 to the Arkansas state line.
