An altercation in a travel trailer in Monett led to charges against a Monett man on Sunday. Kyndall Phillips, 21, of Monett, allegedly attacked his girlfriend and threatened her with a gun.
The Barry County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a residence on Private Road 1116 on Sunday, September 24.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Phillips and the victim, who were in an intimate relationship, got into an argument which turned physical. Phillips allegedly put his hands around the victim’s throat and choked her until she almost lost consciousness, leaving bruising on her neck.
Phillips also allegedly loaded a .357 Magnum and held it to his own head, then in the air, threatening her to “Get back in bed or else.”
Phillips also prevented the victim from leaving the trailer, holding her by the wrists and allegedly flushing her keys down the toilet and taking her phone. The victim said she was afraid to leave because of Phillips’ threats with the gun.
The altercation happened while both were intoxicated. Phillips allegedly supplied the victim, a minor, with alcohol.
Phillips is charged with unlawful use of a weapon, domestic assault in the second degree, kidnapping in the third degree and supplying liquor to a minor. Phillips is currently being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $40,000 cash-only bond.
