Monett Pfizer Clinic for kids planned

The Barry County Health Department will conduct a vaccine clinic on Tuesday, December 14, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Monett Intermediate School. This clinic is open to all five to 11 year olds. There is no cost to receive the vaccine. Appointments must be scheduled by calling 417-847-2114.
Pfizer CoVID-19 child dose is one-third of the adult dose and is a two-shot series.
Pfizer is currently the only CoVID vaccine approved for use in children five years and older.
Children can become infected and get very sick from CoVID. Those infections may lead to short and long-term health complications. Vaccinations for children five years and older is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is currently the best way to prevent these infections. In addition to protecting your child, vaccination helps by:
• Protecting younger children and other at-risk family members.
• Protecting your child from serious illness if they contract CoVID.
• Helping to keep children in school and other group activities.
• Helping to slow the spread of CoVID in the community.
