Sheriff Doug Rader, Stone County Sheriff’s Office
On Wednesday, July 7, deputies from the Barry County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance. During a traffic stop in Eagle Rock, the driver, Ben Reagan, left the car and fled on foot.
Stone County deputies responded to the call for assistance and accompanied Barry County deputies to a residence at 5621 E. Highway 86 in Lampe.
When they arrived on scene, further investigation led to inconsistencies which led deputies to believe Reagan was inside the residence. A perimeter was formed around the residence, and officers from the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the U.S. Marshals all responded to assist.
After several hours, phone contact was made with Mr. Reagan, who was negotiated into walking out of the residence with his hands up. He surrendered without incident.
