Creative Corner: "My Village, My Home"
December 25, 2020
Sarah Lee Palmer
My hands are full.
Not a moment to rest.
I carry it all.
I give my best.
I feel a crack forming inside.
I feel the light going out.
With all the weight. With all my love. I've given all of me.
I've got no more left now, I see.
Here in surrender, I cry.
Here with my best efforts, I cry.
Here overcome, here overwhelmed, here undone, I cry.
I cannot do this alone.
I cannot walk on my own.
I was never meant to anyway.
I cannot carry this weight.
My shoulders were not made that way.
I am not meant to be alone.
My heart needs a village. My mind needs a village. My hands need a village.
I need a moment to breathe.
I'll be there for you, if you'll be here for me.
Let's walk together.
Let's carry together.
Let's rest together.
We were not made to journey alone.
Let's make our village our home.
