New historical society members elected

The Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society met on Saturday, February 16, at the Bayless house in Cassville to elect new members. Elected officials for 2019 include: Phillip Van vroost, president; Kathleen Van vroost, treasurer; Georgia Hart, editor and registrar; Lynna Marie, second vice president; Terry Hart, vice president and recording secretary; and Robin Henderson, corresponding secretary. The BCG&HS meets every third Saturday of the month at the Bayless house in Cassville, located behind the post office. Meetings are open to the public and the society is always looking for new membership. The next meeting of the BCG&HS will be Saturday, March 16, where they plan to conduct their annual Spring Cleaning event. Attendees will be invited to volunteer to help clean up the exterior and yard areas of the Bayless house. Pizza and beverages will be provided. The clean up will take place from 10 p.m. to noon.
