The first three Christmas parades in Barry County took place over the weekend. In Cassville’s Christmas parade, Hungry Hollow Brewing Company took first place in the non-religious division with their Nightmare Before Christmas-themed float.
During Washburn’s Christmas parade, Bristol Davis, 4 years, threw candy for the Barry County Sheriff’s Department with her grandma, Kathy Emo, of Cassville.
Cassville High School FFA wished everyone a “Merry Christmas from the whole herd” with their live animal float on Sunday at the Cassville Christmas parade. The FFA chapter took the Hutchens Kids Choice Award, netting the group $1,000.
On Saturday, December 7, the city of Exeter held their annual Christmas Parade. The parade featured a variety of floats and performances from organizations both in Exeter and the greater Barry County area.
Representing GoBec and Barry Electric’s float, based on the hit Disney film “Frozen”, Gary Mitchell waves at parade attendees while dressed as Olaf the snowman.
Pictured, Exeter’s FFA chapter brought a unique member to their parade party. The baby goat, named Cheez-It, walked dutifully alongside his group while attached to a leash.
